Working from scratch, following simplicity

Online at last!

I have been stopped from many doubts, corrections, changes... but finally I publish it! In others word I moved it from my computer where it has been living for many weeks and I put it online.

There are many aspects that I still have to fix and improve, but I am going to fix them day by day. For example the layout and graphics: I started from a little tropical island (more adapted for a travel agency, isn't true?) and then I got to the final version: the clouds. Today cloud is a word abused in the computer science, but in my opinion I consider that is a beautiful concept to rapresent "to fly too high" or "living into the clouds" or both!

Anyway I am satisfied for the following choices:

  • Drupal 7, the best open source CMS in the market (CMS = content management system);
  • Altervista, an optimal free web platform to bring in the web the own ideas.

The union between Drupal and Altervista offer me the possibility to concentrate myself in the content instead in the administration, update and configuration of the site. Some time ago in another site I had many problem with the spam in the comments, guestbook and forum. I spent many days to fix this issue separately because they were three different PHP scripts. In another situation I created a random images slideshow in javascript after some afternoons, I lost time in testing and the final script did not completely satisfied me!
Today these problems are only a far away memories, because the large Drupal community works and participates in development and test of this framework. Besides the PHP code is well wrote and commented, not like my codes and scripts!!

In my site I would like to tell my experience and knowledge reached. I would like to enrich my baggage and to offer reflections about computer science and everyday life situations.

To conclude here is "Rainnic in the Clouds" and I wish to improve it with articles, considerations, riflections and civil comparisons.

Happy surfing!
