My first useful 3D printing: an example
In the video below I show you with an example how easy is became to design and make what you want to make, thanks to the 3D printing. Now it is also valid for a novice like me. I was looking for a support for the brush heads of an electric toothbrush, but I didn't find a cheap one in the shop so I downloaded a version from Thingverse and modified using Blender.
The process can be reduced in four free and open source steps:
- search and download the model on Thingverse;
- change it with Blender;
- slicing the model with Cura or Slic3r or KISSlicer;
- print it!
I am a novice and I bought and assembled a 3D printer (an Alfawise U20) just last week. But after two initial and easy tests I decided to print an useful object found on internet: a support for the brush heads of an electric toothbrush. I used Blender to reduce the model to my needs, because the original one can stand for up to four brush heads, but in my case two is enough and so I can save a lot of PLA filament.
