The Japanese method: do multiplications with fun

You learn something new every day, indeed I discovered a new way to do multiplications with much fun: the Japanese method. The approach is pretty graphical but obviously the maths is the same used in the traditional method. I show you in a video four examples and a gallery with a comparison of the two techniques. Sure you will appreciate it and amazing your friends with awesome maths!

The Japanese method is an elegant and handful procedure to solve the multiplications reducing them to a sum of dots subdivided in horizontal and vertical lines.

A natural show in my garden, stolen by a camera

A natural show in my garden, stolen by a camera

I want to share you a beautiful video that shows a male blackbird that gives food at his 4 chicks. I used an HTC Re Camera put near the nest and I was able to record a beautiful and intense life moment.

Starting from April a couple of blackbirds made a nest in my wooden canopy. I don't like these birds because they eat the fruits in my garden, in particular the cherries, my favorite ones!

For realizing the video I attacked my HTC Re Camera in a rod of the roof and I set up with slow motion, because the show may be very fast in real time!
